Japanese Freshwater
Field Guide Collection

What your download includes.

The purchase includes one ZIP containing five PNG files, each 4320 × 6115 pixels with 300 dpi metadata. Digital download only—no physical item will be shipped. Printing, paper, and framing are separate costs paid to your chosen provider.

Secure checkout and digital delivery are handled by Payhip. The five watermarked previews above show the artwork included in your purchase; use the original download files for printing, not the website previews.

From download to your wall: three steps.

1. Download and unzip. Save the five original PNG files from your Payhip purchase. Website previews are watermarked and are not the print files.

2. Choose the opening. Measure the frame or mat opening, preserve the artwork’s proportions, and check the entire plate fits. At 300 pixels per inch, 4320 × 6115 pixels corresponds to approximately 14.4 × 20.4 inches (36.6 × 51.8 cm). This calculation is not a print-quality guarantee.

3. Check a proof, then print. Supply the original PNG to your print shop or use a supported home-printer paper size. Make a small test print first. Paper, ink, printer settings and chosen size affect the result; printing and framing are separate costs.

Choose a visible print or mat opening, not the outer frame dimensions. All options are portrait; this is a proportion guide, not an actual-size display.

Placement

Keep the whole artworkRecommended · margins where neededFill the openingCenter crop · some edges may be lost

Cropping can remove titles, labels, or the artwork’s border. Keeping the whole artwork is the safer starting point.

The complete artwork is preserved, with about 5.8% of the opening left as margin on each side.

Original-file density

≈ 612 ppi

Calculated from the 4320 × 6115 pixel original at this placement—not from this web preview. PPI is image detail per inch, not printer DPI or a guarantee of print quality.

Digital artwork files only. No printed poster, mat, or frame is included. Use the original download—not this preview—and ask your printer for a proof at your chosen size. Printer, paper, and frame opening affect the final result.

Personal-use artwork. Not a physical poster.

An uncoated matte paper and a simple dark or natural-wood frame are our suggested starting points. A mount can accommodate a frame with a different aspect ratio while preserving the edges of the plate. Paper and printer settings affect the final color; use a proof to choose the finish you prefer.

These are fictional freshwater studies, made as artwork in a vintage field-guide language. They are not a scientific identification guide. Your purchase is a digital collection, not a printed poster, frame, or fishing lure.

The personal-use license allows printing for yourself or your household. Do not resell or redistribute the digital files, upload them to public websites or file-sharing services, or use them for merchandise or print-on-demand products. Commercial use requires permission. The product description on Payhip contains the license, and the KSK BAITS Payhip contact form is available for questions before buying.

Five plates from an imagined river archive.

Each fictional Japanese freshwater study combines a central specimen, supporting observations, restrained typography, and the aged surface of a field document. The five plates share a visual language, while each has its own river, species, and rhythm.

This is the art side of the River Archive, separate from RIVAS product information. Choose a plate to study at a desk, or keep the five together as a collection.
